Managing Director Neil Steinkamp will be speaking on an upcoming panel at the Connected Cars: Navigating Top Trends in 2017 event hosted by Foley & Lardner on January 11 at the Detroit Athletic Club. The topic that Neil is speaking on is Supply Chain: Allocation of Risk/Responsibility, Crisis Planning, and Collaboration. He will be discussing the new normal associated with recalls and how it impacts automotive suppliers with a focus on the latest technologies. His presentation will discuss available data from external sources and how suppliers can utilize it in combination with internal knowledge and data to gain a more complete assessment of the risks they are facing (and associated costs).
Foley attorneys and automotive industry experts will also speak about various trends and technologies shaping the industry in 2017. Specific topics include Overview of Emerging Automotive Technologies and Data Protection: ownership, privacy/security, and IP theft.
Neil Steinkamp has provided consulting services and has been engaged as an expert in numerous matters involving automotive warranty and recall costs. His experience and expertise includes automotive warranty and recall data analytics, benchmarking, risk assessments, recall cost analysis, and expert testimony. He frequently consults with both OEMs and suppliers to assist in measuring the costs of a recall to the OEM, the internal systems for recall and warranty data collection and reporting, measurement and assessment of recall and product defect risks, analysis of recall completion rates, and the alternative scenarios that may exist for an OEM (such as limited focused recalls, ongoing warranty monitoring, etc.). He has worked in a variety of non-litigation settings, as well as having been engaged as an expert on a wide variety of autmotive recall disputes.
